  1. Hi Dr. Noopur! Welcome to Girls Buzz. We would love to know more about you.

Hi, by profession I am a homoeopathic doctor, I have practised since 2012 but took a break when I became a mother. And with motherhood arose a new passion and profession of a yoga teacher and influencer which I have been enjoying since a year now.

  1. So, how did this journey of ‘yogabydrnoopur’ begin? Like was it always on the cards or something totally impromptu?

I was always in awe of Instagram and posting on it sparked me up. I used to post my fitness journey occasionally and used to love it. So one thing I knew was that I have to start my page as a professional but didnt know how to do it. I was a little late in learning that how huge platform Instagram is in respect to educating and motivating people, which only came to me when I did the Yoga Teacher’s Training Course . I officially started yogabydrnoopur on 1st july 2021.

  1. We read this amazing thing on your Instagram profile description- ‘body mind balance’. Can you explain to our audience, what is it all about?

In today's time of covid, pollution, deflation and plummeting economy, each and every person is looking for 3 things - financial security, a healthy body and a sane mind. Yoga helps in achieving the other 2 things unless you are looking to start a yoga business then the first is also possible. By practising yoga you can experience a beautiful balance between a healthy body and a healthy mind. A healthy mind results in a healthy body and vice versa.

  1. Coming to our topic of the day, immunity building is so important in today’s world, yet it's easier said than done. Can Yoga help in building immunity?

Immunity of a person is improved when they have a healthy respiratory system, a calm mental status and healthy functioning of the digestive system. All of which can be achieved with doing yoga asanas and pranayams.

  1. Now comes the very important question, can you suggest some yoga poses that can help in building immunity?

All yoga poses when done with proper breathwork help build immunity, but there are some heart opening asanas which are more effective such as bhujangasana, dhanurasana, tadasana, matsyasana, adhomukhsvanasana and ustrasana.

  1. We have often heard gut health is linked to immunity. Is it true that improving gut health also contributes towards immunity? Can any yoga poses help with gut health?

Yes, gut health has a major role in making or breaking the immunity of a person. Our immunity depends on what we eat, how the body absorbs the nutrients and how it assimilates them. Asanas like balasana, pawanmuktasana, padhastasana, paschimottanasana and shalabhasana improve the digestive system.

  1. If someone is not able to do strenuous yoga can you suggest some very simple things like pranayam that can be easily done while sitting or relaxing on a chair?

Pranayams like bhastrika, ujjayi, anulom vilom and kapalbhati are really helpful in improving the lung capacity. They also massages the digestive organs hence stimulating them to improve their proper functioning.

  1. We have seen your little cute daughter in some of your videos too! So I think this is one question every mom here wants to ask. Can yoga at a young age help in building kids' immunity too?

Immunity is something which starts building from the womb. So if you start taking care of yourself while pregnant, the child when born will show signs of improved immune system. Further a healthy lifestyle, healthy eating habits, proper sleep and physical activity like yoga will further improve it.

  1. Diet has a very important role in overall health. Is there some strict diet one should follow along with Yoga that can help?

There should be nothing called a strict diet because when it's called strict there are very less chances of it to be followed properly. Any food which is cooked in your household since ages is a healthy food. Only food items to avoid are packaged or processed food and instantly cooked food items.

  1. How often should one practice Yoga for best and effective results?

Yoga can be practised daily. Even a 10-15 mins of asana and pranayama practise have immense health benefits and changes in health can be noticed within a span of few days only.

  1. Is it true that if one stops doing Yoga it might lead to bad results? There are so many myths associated with it. Would you like to bust any other myth?

That is completely absurd. Yoga changes or rather improves your mental and physical health very gently and deeply, so even if you stop practising due to some reason it’ll not harm you rather you’ll want to get back to your exercise routine as soon as possible. Such is the effect of yoga.

  1. Since you are the expert we would really want to know from you are there certain conditions under which one must NOT do yoga?

Yoga should always be practised under the guidance of a professional. Special care should be given by people who have heart ailments, irregular blood pressure and blood sugar levels, are pregnant, fractures or joint ailments, eyes and ears related disorders and infections.

  1. So what’s next? Where do we see Dr. Noopur a few years from now?

I have done the yoga course online and hence taking classes online, I really wish to start a yoga studio in my hometown where I am able to take one to one sessions. Also, I wish to motivate and help more and more people through social media.

  1. We are super inspired by you. Please tell our audience where they can reach out to you?

Instagram is the best way to reach me through the handle @yogabydrnoopur

  1. Last but not the least, would you like to give any piece of advice to all women out there to inspire them to take better care of themselves?

Women are strong souls, they have the capability to take care of everyone along with themselves but most of us usually forget ourselves in caring and giving for others which shouldn’t be done. Never put yourself in the backseat, because if you are not good in your health, then you won't be able to take care of others. Always put yourself first.
